Exhibition of miniature

An exhibition "CENTURY SERBIAN MILITARY AVIATION IN MINIATURE" was opened last night in the Airforce Museum on occasion of two important anniversaries for the institution - the Museum of Aviation Day and a century of Serbian military aviation.

The guests were greeted by the commander of Air Force Major General Ranko Zivak, Head of the Museum Predrag Grandic, curator Mirjana Novakovic and model maker Igor Cernisevski.

- It is known that this year marks the century of the Serbian Air Force and the exhibition before you is the first in a series of celebrations of this great jubilee. The second occasion of this exhibition on occasion of the Day of the Aviation Museum which has been open to the public since 21 May 1989 - she explained.

- The building of the Museum of Aviation is one of the symbols of Belgrade. It is a cultural institution of national importance, which preserves the heritage and tradition and history of the Serbian Air Force – as Predrag Grandic proudly said announcing that these days the museum is waiting for the one millionth visitor.

The exhibition "A century of Serbian military aviation in miniature" includes models of aircraft from different eras, from the creation of the Serbian Army aviation and Air Force of Serbia, as well as pictures that represent the intersection of Serbian military aviation. As for the setting, he said Igor Cernisevski of the modeling club from Belgrade.

- Exhibition in front of you consists of over 200 models and models of aircraft that are painted and marked to represent the aircraft in the history of our century of aviation - Cernisevski said.

- To participate in the jubilee marking 100 years is a great fortune. Besides being an honor it is a big commitment, to those airmen who have built themselves into our military and aerospace all their his knowledge and energy, and obligations to future generations who will continue to build and develop what we started - said Major General Zivak.

The opening of the exhibition, in addition to numerous guests, was attended by Brigadier General Predrag Mayor, commander of the 204th aviation brigade, Colonel Milivoje Pajovic, Head of Department of Defense for Public Affairs, Alexander Konanihin, Cultural Attaché of the Russian embassy, ​​many representatives of civil aviation and many others.
Activities on the occasion of the century of the Serbian Air Force will continue to be lower after the exhibition. In mid June there will be a scientific symposium that will highlight a century of development of military aviation. The plan of activities in the symposium includes the collection, film, monographs, exhibition in other cities, and one of the biggest event to be held this year is the second air show in Batajnica.
